Barena’s FW25 collection follows the path that has marked the evolution of the male wardrobe in recent years. From the very beginning, the brand’s intent was to combine a tradition with a natural, everyday use, characterized by elements of the Venetian lagoon’s tradition which is the brand’s stylistic signature.
The collection is very concrete, characterized by carefully studied volumes, the result of decades of evolution, and a strong materiality. The relationship with fabrics is crucial in establishing the form and function of the garment, with a focus on practicality without ever compromising the elegance of the new formal look.
A contemporary wardrobe that does not deny its history but rather makes it a strength, based on the belief that evolution cannot exist without roots. For Barena Venezia, these roots are represented by the connection to its territory and the craftsmanship it embodies, of which the brand is proudly a part of its history. The MAIN collection, which is primarily winter-oriented, naturally integrates the pre-collection, conceived with the same ideals but with clear transitional values. The importance of the suit / set is evident—not only in the sartorial blazer but also in combination with overshirts and trousers with new volumes, a result of a transversal stylistic attitude aimed at creating a new formal look.
In addition to the classic fabrics, which have become fundamental to maintaining quality continuity, the collection presents more creative materials where experimentation and a willingness to play with texture are evident. Strongly twisted wool yarns create sturdy fabrics with a crisp hand, archival- inspired textures, or naturally crinkled wools woven to create effects of three-dimensionality and lightness. Traditional corduroy velvet is dyed with exclusive fade effects that reference the garments of the “calafao” (craftsmen) working at the ancient Venetian Arsenal. The harmonious dialogue between shapes and fabrics traces a new yet concrete wardrobe, from sailor melton coats to washed blue denim, through refined flannels, cotton bull fabrics, heavy jersey coats, and precious cashmere. These materials naturally coexist in an interesting, wearable yet never ordinary or banal combination.
The color palette is dark, with a predominance of navy and black, which then transition into classic grays ranging from anthracite to ash and dusty taupe, presented in various shades for a total look in block color or harmoniously paired with navy. For the sportier part, army colors in various shades are featured, presented in coats and garment-dyed cottons.
Proudly made in the immediate Venetian hinterland, Barena Venezia lasts as a meeting point between the historical tradition and contemporary design. A brand that has managed to evolve while staying true to its artisanal roots, creating garments that not only dress but tell the story of daily life on the land and in the city from which it comes.
