FRANCESCA ZARA
Head of Design, Barena WomenswearFrancesca Zara is the head of design and creative director for Barena’s Womenswear since 2008. A design enthusiast with a curious mindset and a passion for literature and art, Francesca believes that “each piece is a journey into the soul, reflecting the craftsmanship of ‘fatto bene’ (well done).”
After professional stints in New York and Copenhagen, and inspirational travels around the world, Francesca eventually found her way back home. Her deep love for Veneto fully drew her in, continuing to inspire her daily.
Born into a highly creative family, Francesca has always been very passionate and creative pouring her heart into everything she makes. Her collections are highly personal, embodying feelings of origin, family, and history, while also observing the broader world. The final arrangements balance history and future, connected in a beautiful contemporary design conversation. From the classic casual blazer, a personal favorite of Francesca’s, to relaxed outerwear, the collections have a distinct feel and expression. Her garments are elegant, and easy to wear to highlight at the same time everyone’s personality.
